Lovely French Edwardian  coopered jug, hand crafted from oak staves, similar to a barrel and held together by brass bands and rivets & features a brass handle and spout. 
While resembling a pitcher, many of these antique pieces are no longer liquid-proof due to their age and are primarily used as decorative items or even as umbrella stands. 
The combination of oak and brass gives them a rustic yet elegant appearance, and their barrel-like shape adds a unique character.
