These were produced in the Cantonese region around 1870 and carved from cedar wood with a high level of detail. This example has a high level of detail, It has many figures doing many different things and the scene is exactly the same either side with the lid matching whichever way you put it on. Does have a shake to the lid and just inside where the lid goes on but it certainly is not broken and the lid fits nicely.
