This sculpture is a bronze of an Art Deco dancer, designed by the renowned Romanian sculptor Demetre H. Chiparus in Paris during the 1920s. Often referred to as the "Egyptian Dancer" or "Phoenician Dancer," the piece captures the elegant, rhythmic movement characteristic of the era's cabaret and ballet scenes.
The figure depicts a nimble dancer poised on the balls of her feet, with her head tilted and arms gracefully extended above her head. The statue itself is solid bronze & stands on a tiered base, which is made of red marble on a black marble plinth.
This piece is signed, numbered and carrying the Demetre seal.
Measuring 56cm high x 24cm wide at the widest point & stands on a base 15x15cm.
