This ceramic plate was made by Société Céramique in Maastricht, Netherlands, after World War II to celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands from Nazi occupation.
A Dutch nobleman on horseback, sounding a trumpet and trampling a Nazi flag symbolizes the end of Nazi rule and the victory of the Allied powers.
The plate bears the inscription "Herrijzend Nederland, Naar Vrede en Welvaart," which translates to "Resurrecting the Netherlands, To Peace and Prosperity".
The rim of the plate features flags of Allied nations and symbols like oranges, referencing the House of Orange, the Dutch royal family.
The silhouette of Maastricht can be seen in the background.
